Cambridge Audio Minx - First Impressions

I bought a Cambridge Audio Minx S215 (5.1) setup the other day, consisting of five Min10 BMR satellites and the X200 subwoofer, and having now got them connected up, I thought I should record my first impressions. It is probably worth saying why I chose the Minx setup. I was replacing an old Philips all-in-one system, had already bought a Sony STR-DA2400ES receiver and was looking for budget speakers that would be good enough for music as well as TV & movies. Samsung LED dark shade spot?

I've got a Samsung LED TV about 7-8 years old which I turned on today & noticed it has a dark shade spot at the top of the screen. I've unplugged everything & restarted it, tried HDMI in other slots, did a picture reset but it's still there, any ideas? from AVForums https://ift.tt/2MLdMpU

Monitoring of vulnerable person at home (fall detection, etc.)

I'm trying to do something to monitor an elderly person at home and would welcome suggestions for products/solutions. I'm thinking along the lines of motion detectors in some of the rooms, possibly a digital watch or wristband with fall detection, and a Google or Amazon device (for voice commands). There is a home LAN/WiFi network, fibre Internet, z-wave home automation (OpenHAB), and security system (currently external video). Any thoughts? from AVForums https://ift.tt/2nSd4gC
