How to buy Games Pass cheaply?

Hi, I am new to Microsoft games (and gaming in general). I'm thinking of buying a Series S for my daughter. I have read about Games Pass, Games Pass Ultimate and Gold. I don't really understand the differences.

Just to get started, without playing online, what is the cheapest way of buying a Games Pass in the UK?

Should I think about Gold?

Hi, I'm new here. I've just sold my Arcam FMJ P7 to a great guy who is on these forums. So I now have my Arcam FMJ AV9 pre-amp to sell.
