Online FPS Mouse Tips

I've started to get into CoD: Warzone a bit and have noticed I'm having trouble aligning some of the more precise shots. Yes, I'm not very good, but also I notice for the fine movements, like the last adjustment for that headshot, the reticle doesn't move for a small amount of mouse movement, then jumps a bit - in this window - 1/2 a second - I have been wiped out.

When I just move the cursor around in Windows it looks fine - maybe this kind of effect is not visible here?
