soundbar setup

i have the vizio sb3651-e6 a cable box which is 720p then 4k firestick connect to tv's hdmi ive read its best to have the arc sb to arc tv then cable box to hdmi in on sb then other end into tv.
i just dont know what the benefit is though over just using the one cable arc to tv then cable box to tv. as i have used both setups and neighter setup has any disadvantages or advanages that i have found and i dont care about arc features i just want the best audio quality.

Hi, I'm new here. I've just sold my Arcam FMJ P7 to a great guy who is on these forums. So I now have my Arcam FMJ AV9 pre-amp to sell. This has been a great processor for me, and I can honestly be thankful to it for revealing subtle elements on recordings that no other pre-amp has given me.
