Digital connection from cd to amp

Hi & apologies if this is old ground. I am looking at a Yamaha amp with the fancy "32 bit" DAC and would like to try the digital link from cd to the amp. We have either optical or coaxial......may I ask for expert advice as to which if any is "preferable"? Incidentally I am looking at the Marantz cd6006 which has a good dac in any case, but would be interesting to compare the rca cable to digital connection. Thank you.

Hi, I'm new here. I've just sold my Arcam FMJ P7 to a great guy who is on these forums. So I now have my Arcam FMJ AV9 pre-amp to sell. This has been a great processor for me, and I can honestly be thankful to it for revealing subtle elements on recordings that no other pre-amp has given me.
