Larger is better? Why?

Is it even true larger is better?

My current livingroom has me about 4m away from a 46" screen (or a 2.6m projection screen)
My future living room will be 5m away from a 55" screen (or perhaps a 3.5m projection screen)

Therefore, if you were to take a photo in both rooms, the view looks almost exactly the same. I probably can see about the same amount of detail etc, screen perceived width is the same. if you go to a cinema the screen is massive, but you sit waay back. Watching a movie on...

Hi, I'm new here. I've just sold my Arcam FMJ P7 to a great guy who is on these forums. So I now have my Arcam FMJ AV9 pre-amp to sell.
