soundbar vs mini hifi

hello, i am trying to decide between two options for my new tv, i used in the past a pc speaker with my old tv, my new tv can't handle directly the sound volume of the old speaker so i am trying to decide what to purchase

i saw a nice cheap sony soundbar without subwoofer, HT-S100F

my other option is a small stereo, or a mini hifi stereo, a sony cmt sbt20 or a lg ck43

i was told by a friend that a soundbar without subwoofer is a bad idea, so it was better to have a stereo, i kinda like...

Hi, I'm new here. I've just sold my Arcam FMJ P7 to a great guy who is on these forums. So I now have my Arcam FMJ AV9 pre-amp to sell. This has been a great processor for me, and I can honestly be thankful to it for revealing subtle elements on recordings that no other pre-amp has given me.
