Is the Onkyo txnr686 later than chip/hdmi/sound problem receiver?

I am looking for a sub £400 AV receiver to replace a broken Onkyo 646. That generation had the hdmi/sound board issue. The 686 is a possibility, so I wondered did Onkyo learn by the time this receiver was marketed? I was reluctant for another Onkyo but mine was pretty good, although I'm also considering the Denon 2500, Yamaha 685 and Sony 1080. Thanks

Hi, I'm new here. I've just sold my Arcam FMJ P7 to a great guy who is on these forums. So I now have my Arcam FMJ AV9 pre-amp to sell. This has been a great processor for me, and I can honestly be thankful to it for revealing subtle elements on recordings that no other pre-amp has given me.
