Optoma UHD300X - not auto switching into HDR mode...

So I have the HDR detect set to auto in the projector menu, but when I play downloaded 4K demo trailers that are supposedly HDR10 the options below HDR are still greyed out and unable to change them which makes me think the projector has not switched into HDR mode.

I am playing them from my PC using VLC media player (3.0.7.1) Vetinari. using a 5 metre fibre optic HDMI (2.0) 4K@60HZ high speed 18gbps cable, connected to port 2 on projector.
