Wireless possibly portable speaker

Hi,
Looking to buy a standalone speaker to enable me to listen to music in the dining/living room. Room is open plan but not very big. Just want something that sounds good at low volume (but also has enough volume for the odd party). Looked at various (Sonos/Bose etc) struggling to decide, due to the size of the house have no need for multiroom. Have an echo dot2nd gen & quality is rubbish so tried a speaker dock that the echo drops into but the quality was poor, no bass to speak of....
