Audio drop outs, popping from front left speaker

Picked up a Shield today and will be sending it back tomorrow :(

I have a Sony TV and Denon receiver = TV and Shield connected through the media player via HDMI/ARC.

The picture is great, however no matter what app i use, i have audio dropouts, popping from the front left speaker and constant screen flicker as if trying to switch between screen ratio or input.

No idea what the issue is so i guess i will be sending back and sticking with my WDTV :(.

TV pixelating issue

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me as this issue has be baffled. So my TV has pixel flashes they seem to be an equidistant and random colours (They are constantly there but flash different colours). This happens when connected to my Virgin box and other sources with no media input attached. Yet... When i attach my laptop to the TV, there is no issue whatsoever!
