PM Modi to visit Gujarat today ; to launch various projects

Chocolate lovers as well as people of Anand will be celebrating the inauguration of a Chocolate Plant while Anjar will be contributing to the country's clean energy basket.

This complex, which is part of the Amul food unit houses it's first automatic and modern chocolate plant.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating this plant. Amul has been making chocolates since 1974 but this is the first modern and fully automated Chocolate plant.

It has a capacity to produce 1000 tonnnes of chocolate per month - which is 5 times more than Amul's existing chocolate producing capacity.

This increased production is likely to translate into a lowering of price for consumers.

Amul is a success story of how co-operatives transform lives of entreprenural  dairy farmers.

What began as a handful of dairy farmers taking on a foreign multi-national, today covers nearly 18,000 villages and involves over 36 Lakh farmers in Gujarat.

From 247 litres of milk to 250 Lakh litres the journey of this co-operative movement, the brain child of Sardar Patel is unique.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a farmers rally after the inauguration of the plant.

From Anand, the PM will head to Anjar, where he will dedicate a natural-gas pipeline laid by the Gujarat State Petronet between the Mundra port and Anjar.

The 67-km-long pipeline has been built at a cost of Rs 375 crore.

He will also dedicate to the nation 4 electric sub-stations.

Prime Minister will also visit Rajkot where he will unveil a plaque to mark the inauguration of a public housing project.

He will witness the e-Grah Pravesh of beneficiary families. the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi Museum in Rajkot.

The Museum has been set up at the Alfred High School in Rajkot, which was an important part of the formative years of Mahatma Gandhi.

The Prime Minister will visit the Mahatma Gandhi Museum as well.
